This cradle is packed with electronics that push the boundaries of what a navigation device can do on a motorcycle.

Ultra-robust construction:
Made from highly resistant, glass-fiber reinforced nylon – for maximum stability and all-round protection.

Intelligent energy management:
For direct connection to 12V with integrated voltage stabilization. Handles voltage spikes and prevents vehicle battery discharge via an automatic sleep mode. Includes protection against reverse polarity, overvoltage, and overheating, as well as a circuit breaker.

Safety logic:
The contact pins are only "live" when the Caretta is inserted. This prevents short circuits if the open cradle comes into contact with water or metal when the device is removed.

Quick-release flat-pin contacts:
Allow for instant docking – on and off the motorcycle in seconds. The connection is robust enough for any terrain (making external M8 connectors like those on CI Pads unnecessary).

Hard-wired integration:

• Controller: Direct connection of external remote controls and other accessories.

• OBD: Direct cable connection to the motorcycle's OBD interface (no Bluetooth dongle required) via Carpe Iter adapter cable.

• BMW: Plug-and-play for BMW models with connection for BMW Navigator via the Carpe Iter BMW adapter cable (more models in planning).

Advanced vibration damping:
A "free-float" system with high-quality silicone dampers decouples the device's mounting points from the vehicle frame and prevents the transmission of high-frequency engine vibrations.

Intelligent holding mechanism:

• Intuitive: Slide-and-click insertion, unlocking via a simple pressure lever.

• Lockable: Prevents opportunistic theft.

• Manual override: The lever is bidirectional. If mud or dirt blocks the spring mechanism while on the trail, the lock can be closed manually to securely fix the Caretta until there is time for cleaning.

Installation:
Front-facing mounting holes for easy access during assembly.

Any mounting solution can be used for the standard landscape orientation.

For portrait orientation, the Carpe Iter AMPS base mount for Caretta is required, which compensates for the wedge shape of the Caretta and cradle (sold separately).
