Yamaha Tenere 700 Navigation Mount / Cockpit Stabilization
Model years 2019 - 2025
This navigation mount for the Yamaha Tenere 700 is one of the most stable solutions on the market and offers excellent value for money. The mount not only stabilizes the original 12 mm bar but also provides a completely new and extremely robust solution for mounting your GPS. By securing it to multiple fixed points, maximum stability is achieved and the fairing is protected, preventing stress cracks that can occur with other mounts.
Structure of the Tenere 700 Navigation Mount
The navigation mount consists of two main components:
- The mount itself, and
- a mounting kit, which is available in two versions – as a mask mount or a frame mount.
Which mounting kit is right for your Tenere?
The choice of the appropriate mounting kit depends on the crash bars that are or will be installed on your motorcycle.
Generally, there are two types of crash bars:
- Mask-mount crash bars, which are attached to the front fairing of the motorcycle, such as the original Yamaha crash bars or SW-Motech crash bars.
- Frame-mount crash bars, which are mounted directly to the frame (steering head) of the motorcycle, such as the crash bars from Outback Motortek.
The Carpe Iter T700 GPS mount should be attached at a point that is not blocked by crash bars.
Examples for choosing the mounting kit:
- If you use the original Yamaha crash bars, choose the frame mount kit.
- For Outback Motortek crash bars, opt for the mask mount kit.
- Do you have no crash bars? Then the frame mount kit is the right choice.
Scope of delivery and details on the GPS plate
Included in the scope of delivery are four stainless steel screws (M5x14), suitable for securely fastening navigation mounts – such as those for Carpe Iter or DMD T865X – onto the mounting plate.
New: Matching screws are now also included for installing the cockpit stabilization on older Yamaha Tenere 700 models with LCD displays (model years 2019–2021). This makes the stabilization compatible with both early models and the new variants from 2022 onwards.
The navigation mounting plate features holes with a 30x38 mm AMPS hole pattern and is suitable for both landscape and portrait orientation.
When using larger navigation devices, such as the Carpe Iter, it is recommended to also install the Tenere Windshield Adjuster.
With the Tenere Windshield Adjuster, the original windshield can be raised and adjusted so that the installed navigation device is better protected from the elements – especially in the rain.
