The Foam & Cover Kit consists of foam and a cover and is mounted onto the original seat pan. Seat Concepts uses a proprietary foam that is of higher quality than the stock foam. It provides a softer and more active suspension while still offering sufficient support. The shape of the front seat matches the stock contour to prevent the legs from being spread further apart, and it widens toward the middle to distribute weight over a larger surface area. This creates more comfort for long distances. The rear kit for the passenger seat features the same high-quality foam, is slightly wider and more dished than stock, and is raised slightly at the front to prevent the passenger from sliding forward.

Choice of seat cover
- Black Sandpaper: The grippiest surface among the comfort seats, rough like coarse sandpaper. Keeps you securely in your seat during acceleration and braking. Best used with motorcycle pants; jeans tend to catch.
- Black Semi-Grip: The all-rounder. Provides good grip, but allows you to shift around on the seat at any time. Comfortable on long days and just as good with jeans as it is with motorcycle or MX/enduro pants.

According to Seat Concepts, the rear kit only fits the Adventure models. For the air/oil-cooled R1200 GS Adventure up to 2013, not for the water-cooled models (LC).
