Seat Concepts uses a proprietary foam that is higher quality than the stock foam. Its cushioning is softer and more active, while still providing adequate support. The shape of the seat matches the stock contour at the front so that your legs are not spread further apart, and it widens toward the middle to distribute weight over a larger area. This creates more comfort for long distances.

Seat cover options
- Black Sandpaper: The grippiest surface of the comfort seats, rough like coarse sandpaper. Keeps you securely in place during acceleration and braking. Best used with motorcycle pants; jeans tend to catch.
- Black Semi-Grip: The all-rounder. Provides good grip, but allows you to shift on the seat at any time. Comfortable on long days and just as good with jeans as with motorcycle, MX, or enduro pants.
- Black Carbon Fiber: Smooth vinyl with a subtle carbon look, with low grip.

In Europe, the KLR650 was sold until 2004. Whether the seat fits the European KLR650 C model (1995 and later) has not been confirmed by Seat Concepts.
