Turkana Gear Hybrid HippoHips™ Saddlebags

With their innovative hybrid design, this versatile luggage system can be used in two different ways, making it perfect for all types of trips.

First, they can be used as classic universal "over-the-seat" saddlebags that fit most motorcycles with pannier racks. By using the HippoHips™ together with the Classic Strap Set, they can be easily placed over the seat and secured to the pannier frame. In this mode, the bags are designed to remain on the motorcycle throughout the entire trip. After a long day of riding on gravel or in the rain, saddlebags often get very dirty. Once you arrive at your destination, you can simply remove the waterproof inner bags and take them to your tent or hotel room.

Second, the Hybrid HippoHips can also be used as a plate-mounted version in combination with the Turkana glass-fiber reinforced Nylon 6 mounting plates. This gives you a quick-release function without sacrificing the benefits of the classic mounting method. The system remains lightweight and the inner bags can still be easily removed if the outer bags are dirty. If you need to leave your motorcycle in an insecure location overnight or want to push it through a narrow doorway, the bags can be removed quickly. They can also be used as a single bag – ideal for filtering through city traffic, daily commuting, or short trips.
