By using the HippoHips™ together with the Classic Strap Set, they can be easily placed over the seat and secured to the luggage frame. In this mode, the bags are designed to stay on the motorcycle for the duration of the trip. After a long day of riding over gravel or in the rain, saddlebags often get very dirty. Once you arrive at your destination, you can simply remove the waterproof inner bags and take them into your tent or hotel room.
Secondly, the Hybrid HippoHips can also be used as a plate-mounted version in combination with the Turkana glass-fiber reinforced Nylon 6 mounting plates. This gives you a quick-release function without sacrificing the benefits of the classic setup. The system remains lightweight, and the inner bags can still be easily removed if the outer bags are dirty. If you need to park your motorcycle in an insecure location overnight or maneuver it through a narrow doorway, the bags can be removed quickly. Furthermore, they can also be used as a single bag – ideal for filtering through city traffic or for daily commuting and short excursions.
