Alpinestars Tech-Air Off-Road Motorcycle Airbag

The Alpinestars Tech-Air Off-Road Motorcycle Airbag offers active upper body protection for off-road, rally, and street use.
With integrated sensors, the system detects critical situations and deploys the airbag within milliseconds to protect the chest, back, shoulders, and collarbones.

Tested under the harsh conditions of the Dakar Rally since 2017, the system includes an off-road protective jacket with passive Level 1 full protection for the back and limbs, as well as a passive Level 2 chest protector. Three pre-installed riding modes – ENDURO, RALLY, and STREET – provide optimal protection on any terrain.

ENDURO Mode: Optimized for technically demanding off-road trails.
Offers high sensitivity and responsiveness at low to medium speeds.

RALLY Mode: Ideal for fast and challenging rally stages.
Ensures the highest level of protection at high speeds and in changing conditions.

STREET Mode: Offers maximum protection on asphalt roads.
Ideal for transitioning from off-road trails to standard road riding.

The integrated sensors of the Alpinestars Tech-Air Off-Road Motorcycle Airbag continuously monitor riding conditions and activate the airbag only in the event of an accident. The riding modes can be easily adjusted while riding via the LED display on the front of the vest or via the Tech-Air App. The airbag has been fully certified for up to 4 deployments. Provided the airbag bladder has not been mechanically damaged during one of the first 3 deployments, the manufacturer recommends servicing after 4 deployments at the latest and offers to perform this in-house.

Neck protectors are not compatible with airbag systems; therefore, the Tech-Air Off-Road system is not compatible with the use of Alpinestars’ Bionic Neck Support (BNS) nor with other third-party neck protection systems / neck braces.

Note:

A special shipping switch is located on the ECU, which puts the system into sleep mode when activated. Only accessible when the electronic housing is removed from the back protector, the shipping switch allows the battery to be disconnected from the system during transport or when the system will not be used for an extended period. The system is shipped with the shipping mode activated. Please ensure that you deactivate the shipping mode when using the airbag system for the first time.
