X-TREME Shock Absorber KTM 790 Adventure R 2019-2025, TracTive

The TracTive X-TREME is a high-quality, fully adjustable shock absorber with an external reservoir and PDSII bottoming-out protection.

The damping configuration was developed specifically for the KTM 790 Adventure R. Rebound and compression damping can be adjusted independently of each other. The compression damping also features separate high-speed and low-speed adjustments.

The external reservoir provides a larger oil volume and better heat dissipation. As a result, damping performance remains as consistent as possible even under high loads, for example during long off-road stages.

The shock absorber is available as X-TREME + HPA with hydraulic spring preload adjustment via a handwheel.

Adjustment options

• Rebound: approx. 18 clicks
• Low-speed compression: adjustment of damping for slow compression movements, for example when accelerating or hitting long undulations
• High-speed compression: adjustment of damping for fast compression movements, for example hitting potholes or hard terrain edges
• Spring preload: mechanical on the shock absorber

PDSII bottoming-out protection

The PDSII system works with an additional piston that generates progressive damping towards the end of the suspension travel. This reduces hard bottoming out during heavy impacts or jumps.

Available height

For the KTM 790 Adventure R, the shock absorber is available exclusively with a 20 mm lift. In standard height, the shock absorber is available as X-CITE + HPA or X-TREME + HPA.

We recommend coordinating the suspension height between the front and rear wheels. Ideally, the shock absorber is combined with a correspondingly adapted fork cartridge.

Individual tuning

Before delivery, we will tune the shock absorber to your rider weight and intended use.

For this, we only need your rider weight including motorcycle gear and a brief note on your primary area of use (road, touring, off-road, etc.).

The shock absorber comes standard with a 95 N/mm spring. Softer or harder springs are also available depending on rider weight and intended use.
