The TracTive X-TREME is a high-quality, fully adjustable shock absorber with an external reservoir and PDSII bottoming-out protection.
The damping configuration has been developed specifically for the Yamaha Tenere 700 Extreme. Rebound and compression damping can be adjusted independently of each other. The compression damping also features separate high- and low-speed adjustment.
The external reservoir provides a larger oil volume and better heat dissipation. As a result, the damping performance remains as consistent as possible, even under high loads, for example on longer off-road stages.
The shock absorber is available as X-TREME + HPA with hydraulic spring preload via a handwheel.
To achieve the best result, we recommend replacing the shock absorber and fork cartridge at the same time.
Adjustment options
- Rebound: approx. 18 clicks
- Low-speed compression: adjustment of damping during slow suspension movements, for example when accelerating or on long undulations
- High-speed compression: adjustment of damping during fast suspension movements, for example on potholes or hard terrain edges
- Spring preload: mechanical on the shock absorber

PDSII bottoming-out protection
The PDSII system works with an additional piston that generates progressive damping towards the end of the suspension travel. This reduces hard bottoming out during heavy impacts or jumps.
Individual setup
We will configure the shock absorber for your rider weight and intended use before delivery.
For this, we only need your rider weight including motorcycle clothing and a brief note on your primary area of use (road, touring, off-road, etc.).

The shock absorber comes standard with an 80 N/mm spring. Softer or harder springs are also available depending on rider weight and intended use.
