The DMD-Nor7e 7" Nav-Tab is a 7-inch navigation tablet with an open Android system, specifically developed for motorcycles.
Designed by motorcyclists for motorcyclists – with a focus on robust construction, high readability, and true off-road usability.

Unlike classic "rugged tablets" originally intended for industry or logistics, the Norte Nav Tab 7 was conceived from the start for handlebar use – whether for touring, travel enduros, adventure bikes, or rally machines.

Battery & power supply

The DMD-NOR7E was consistently developed for permanent use on a motorcycle. To achieve compact dimensions and the lowest possible weight, a smaller battery is intentionally installed compared to classic universal tablets. In normal operation, the device is powered by the motorcycle's electrical system and is designed for continuous operation.

If the tablet is operated without an external power supply and at maximum display brightness, the battery life is approximately one hour.

Who is the DMD NOR7E particularly suitable for?

The NOR7E is a good choice if you are looking for a compact, robust navigation device for both road and off-road use.

The 7-inch display offers enough space for maps and GPX tracks without taking up too much space in the cockpit.

We see the NOR7E primarily as a versatile adventure navigator. It is just as suitable for adventure bikes as it is for lighter enduros, where a compact mount is particularly important.

How long does the battery last without a power supply?

The NOR7E intentionally has a relatively small battery. At maximum display brightness, the battery life without an external power supply is approximately one hour.

The device was developed for permanent operation on a motorcycle and is powered by the vehicle's electrical system while riding.

If you would like to use your tablet frequently away from the motorcycle, a device with a larger battery is more practical.

Is the DMD NOR7E charged directly via the mount?

No. The mount holds the tablet, but the power is supplied via a separate, waterproof connector on the back.

The current version of the NOR7E features a click connector with a push-and-pull locking mechanism for this purpose. This allows the power connection to be established and disconnected quickly.

When removing the tablet, the plug must be disconnected separately. There is no power supply via charging contacts in the mount.

Is the NOR7E suitable for digital roadbooks?

Yes. The NOR7E is well-suited for roadbook training and hobby rallies.

If you want to display the roadbook, trip meter, and CAP heading on the screen at the same time, however, the available space becomes tight. For more demanding rally use, we therefore often recommend an additional tripmaster.

This allows you to display the roadbook significantly larger while still keeping an eye on the most important rally information at all times.

Can I use the full DMD2 app on my smartphone or another Android tablet?

Yes. On the NOR7E, the full DMD2 app is already unlocked without additional license fees.

If you register your NOR7E in your DMD HUB account, you can also use this activation on other compatible Android devices.

To do so, install DMD2 on the desired device and log in with the same DMD HUB account. The full version of DMD2 will then be unlocked there as well – without any additional subscription.
