X-TREME Shock Absorber KTM 890 Adventure R 2021-2025, TracTive

The TracTive X-TREME is a high-quality, fully adjustable shock absorber with an external reservoir and PDSII bottoming-out protection.

The damping configuration was developed specifically for the KTM 890 Adventure R. Rebound and compression damping can be adjusted independently of one another. The compression damping also features separate high- and low-speed adjustment.

The external reservoir provides a larger oil volume and better heat dissipation. As a result, damping performance remains as constant as possible even under heavy load, for example during long off-road stages.

With hydraulic spring preload via handwheel, the shock absorber is available as X-TREME + HPA.

Adjustment Options

• Rebound: approx. 18 clicks
• Low-speed compression: adjustment of damping for slow compression movements, for example when accelerating or over long undulations
• High-speed compression: adjustment of damping for fast compression movements, for example over potholes or harsh terrain edges
• Spring preload: mechanical on the shock absorber

PDSII Bottoming-out Protection

The PDSII system works with an additional piston that generates progressive damping towards the end of the suspension travel. This reduces harsh bottoming-out during heavy impacts or jumps.

Available Height

The shock absorber is exclusively available for the KTM 890 Adventure R with a 20 mm lift. In standard height, the shock absorber is available as X-CITE + HPA or X-TREME + HPA.

We recommend coordinating the suspension height of the front and rear wheels. Ideally, the shock absorber should be combined with an appropriately adapted fork cartridge.

Individual Setup

We tune the shock absorber to your rider weight and intended use before delivery.

For this, we simply require your rider weight including motorcycle gear and brief information regarding your primary area of use (road, touring, off-road, etc.).

The shock absorber comes standard with a 95 N/mm spring. Depending on rider weight and intended use, softer or harder springs are also available.
