Turkana Gear Hybrid HippoHips™ Saddlebags

With their innovative hybrid design, this versatile luggage system can be used in two different ways, making it perfect for all types of travel.

First, they can be used as classic universal "over-the-seat" saddlebags, which fit most motorcycles with pannier racks. By using the HippoHips™ together with the Classic Strap Set, they can be easily placed over the seat and attached to the pannier frame. In this mode, the bags are designed to stay on the motorcycle for the duration of the trip. After a long day of riding on gravel or in the rain, saddlebags often get very dirty. Upon reaching your destination, you can simply remove the waterproof inner bags and take them to your tent or hotel room.

Second, the Hybrid HippoHips can also be used as a plate-mounted version in combination with the Turkana glass-reinforced nylon 6 mounting plates. This gives you a quick-release function without sacrificing the advantages of classic mounting. The system remains lightweight and the inner bags can still be easily removed if the outer bags are dirty. If you need to leave your motorcycle in an insecure location overnight or push it through a narrow door, the bags can be removed quickly. Furthermore, they can also be used as a single bag – ideal for lane-splitting in city traffic or for daily commuting and short trips.
